A review, as a rhyme...
I won VIP tickets to see the Gorillaz back in December, and as one of my favourite bands it was a night to remember! As part of their Humanz tour they were performing in the London O2, and from our balcony we had the most amazing view! But this tour was different from their past, as Damon Albarn took the stage to perform live with the rest of their huge cast, but Noodle and 2-D and the other memorable faces still made an appearance, as short films and videos played on in the distance. Having the virtual characters and the creators all in one place, made for the most memorable gig I have been to to date. The band started with Gorillaz classics like '19-2000' but the arena erupted when they performed their new album, singles like 'Saturnz Barz' and 'Ascension' had the crowd in a roar, as they went back to their old albums for the encore. 'Dare', 'Clint Eastwood' and 'Demon Days' perfectly closed the night, and showed everyone once again that Gorillaz are still doing it right! The show was no stranger to guest performers, with the likes of De La Soul, Little Simz, Pusha T, and Shaun Ryder. As we got on the tube there was still such a buzz in the air, and I can safely say that as one of the most amazing performances, I was there.
So Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett I want to say thank-you, for creating music that made me dance so much I nearly got kicked out of the VIP room.
